Irro Charter team would like to share with you some of the very best things to do on the Amalfi Coast:

Amalfi, Italy
  1. Sorrento

Sorrento is the starting point (or the end) of the Amalfi Coast, and the Irro Charter team think that's what makes it extremely popular, particularly during the summer. It's stunning and one of the simplest and best things to do on the Amalfi Coast. There is a lot to do between the sun-drenched squares, the breath-taking hotels and winding streets of the Old Town that ooze with charm and make Sorrento, simply speaking, is a lovely place to add to your European tour bucket list.
  2. Atrani

If you need a breather from the busier cities and towns, head over to beautiful Atrani. It's one of the best places on the Amalfi Coast to just hang out and relax. Even though it's relatively close to Amalfi (the town), the vibe here is completely different and much more comfortable. Now, if you're planning a visit, make sure you leave the car behind and explore Atrani by foot. If you're here, check out the medieval architecture, eat in one of the many trattorias, soak in the atmosphere from Piazza Umberto, or if you rather just hang out at the tiny black sandy beach.
  3. Positano

Positano is a quintessential Amalfi Coast village with breathtaking views and beautiful pastel-coloured homes. The kind you've seen in every iconic image of the Amalfi coast. With a gorgeous sandy beach, seaside bars, busy nightlife and fancy boutiques, Positano is understandably a place to splurge a little and treat yourselves!
  4. Amalfi

A trip to the Amalfi Coast is incomplete without a stop in Amalfi. What was once a significant trading centre is now a beautiful coastal area. Relax and enjoy some sunshine at the popular Marina Grande beach or head to Santa Croce's tiny cove if Marina Grande beach is too busy for you. If it's not exactly what you're looking for here (or even, after you've finished soaking up the sunshine), head over to the magnificent 11th Century Cathedral of Sant'Andrea or spend the afternoon at the Chiostro del Paradiso.
  5. Fiordo di Furore

If you want a fast escape from the maddening crowds, head to Fiordo di Furore, Italy's only fjord. This heavily photographed beach is mostly peaceful and absolutely breathtaking.
  6. Capri

Ok – this is not technically "The Amalfi Coast," but the glamorous and romantic island of Capri is a short day trip from the Amalfi Coast and a must-see when you're in the region. Think of cascading bougainvillea, whitewashed homes, turquoise seas, and stunning views everywhere you look. It's really beautiful here, and worth the ride. It's just one of the best things to do on the Amalfi Coast.

  8. Ravello

Ravello is a spot on the Amalfi Coast that has long been a playground for the rich and famous, and it's easy to see why once you are there. With spectacular views from the Terrace of Infinity, the fascinating gardens of Villa Cimbrone and the fantastic atmosphere of Piazza del Vescovado. Ravello can quickly find its way to the top of your favourite places to visit in Italy. If you're here during the summer, you'll have to attend the annual Ravello Music Festival in Villa Rufolo, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
  9. Praiano

Praiano is another smaller and more comfortable village on the Amalfi coast. Once known for its silk production and for being the summer residence of the Amalfi dukes, Praiano is today a Beautiful resort town as well as a hub for the arts. Travel to the rocky beach of La Gavitella and enjoy the breathtaking views from there. Also, spend some quiet time in the church of Parrocchia Di San Gennaro – it's unbelievable!
  10. Minori

If you love pasta, you're going to love Minori! Formerly lined with pasta making factories, Minori, also known as the City of Taste, is now a UNESCO site and a must-visit on the Amalfi coast. Something about its narrow alleys and old houses, particularly the Roman Villa of the 1st Century called the Convent of San Nicola (XI) will take you back in time. But going back to the pasta, the N'dunderi (dumplings made of ricotta) and the Scialatielli (fresh pasta ribbon) are mouth-tasting delicacies that you simply must try! Try the Delizie Al Limone for dessert at the popular Sal De Riso pastry. It's a beautiful place and one of the best eateries on the Amalfi Coast.
  11. Maiori

Maiori is a historic town with a lot of character, so much so that Roberto Rossellini chose this town as the setting for four of his films. Think of ancient walls, old castles, and wonderful art-filled churches. Maiori is also where you'll find the longest beach on the Amalfi Coast and a wide range of delicious seafood. If wanting a good shopping spot – for souvenirs or something else, head to Corso Reginna, the main street full of fun, exclusive boutiques and shops.
