The Tatra Mountains, part of the Carpathian Mountain Range in Eastern Europe, forms the natural border between Slovakia and Poland. The area is protected as a national park in both states and is a popular destination in both winter and summer. Wild animals such as the Tatra chamois, marmot, lynx and bear live here. The highest peak of this mountain range is on Slovak territory: the Gerlachovský štít at 2,655 m.

It's hard to overstate the beauty of the Tatras, whose 300-plus peaks shape the highest part of the Central Carpathian Mountains. In combination with the Polish National Park of the same name, Slovakia's Tatra National Park is a Unesco-protected biosphere reserve. The Slovak side has a lion's share of the reserve, 740 sq km of beech and spruce trees, deep blue glacier lakes and alpine meadows dotted with wildflowers. It is a large playground for native fauna, such as marmots and chamois (mountain goat antelopes); human hikers tackle hundreds of kilometers of trails are also at play, and skiers flock to the High Tatras in winter.

Coach Charter Europe will be your group travel partner when it comes to visit Tatras. Let the experts look after you and book your tour bus with driver on our website. We can offer long distance coaches for a multi-day trip around Tatras. You can also chose an Airport shuttle transfer for you and your group from Poprad Airport straight to Tatras. A chartered bus with driver booked at our bus rental company will be the best choice for a perfect stay at Tatras.
Coach Charter Europe’s team wanted to show you some of the very best things to do in the Tatras:

1. Štrbské Pleso (1346m)

If you've never been to the High Tatras yet, your first moves can certainly lead to Štrbské Pleso. The panorama of the glacier tarn with the Patria Hotel and the amazing peaks in the background is one of the best-known sights not only in our country (Slovakia) but also abroad. Here you can do cross-country hiking, skiing and in the summer you can also rent a boat or take a lot of tours to the most beautiful places in the High Tatras. Don't forget to look at the lakes of love in the main car park. There's calm, quiet, and these lakes are really cool, too! You've got to come to Štrbské Pleso with a cog-rail ride, of course. It was built at the end of the 19th century and still serves the people, but there are plans to replace it with a new one, so hurry up!

2. Popradské Pleso (1494m)

The first tour of the High Tatras must be a walk to Popradské Pleso. You can get there from Štrbské Pleso by a tourist path marked red (map). The other choice is a blue marked route from the stop of the Tatra Electric Railway named Popradské Pleso (map). This tarmac-surfaced path is ideal for visitors with children's prams as well as for people using wheelchairs or bicycles. From Popradské Pleso, you will continue to other locations such as Ostrva, Rysy and others (but without a baby pram or bicycle).

3. Waterfall Skok (Jump)

Whoever did some of the first hikes in the Tatra Mountains will make a little more challenging travel ... there are a lot of waterfalls in the Tatras, but the most spectacular is the Skok waterfall. The Skok Waterfall is known to be the most abundant waterfall in Slovakia and is also the third largest waterfall in the High Tatras. You can see that from Štrbské Pleso. But the easiest way to get there is to climb and proceed through Bystrá Lávka back to Štrbské Pleso. The route is no longer than 15 kilometers and you can walk through it in less than 6 hours. Due to the beautiful waterfalls, tarns and a little adrenaline, I suggest that you do this trip as the first one.

4. Hrebienok (1285m)

Those who did not try to sled from Hrebienok to Starý Smokovec do not know what it really means to enjoy the High Tatras. You can get to Hrebienok by the only cable car in Slovakia, or you can get there on foot in about an hour (map). Then proceed to the waterfalls of Studený Potok, Zbojnícka Chalet or Teryho Chalet, Sliezsky Dom or Skalnaté Pleso. There are a lot of directions to choose from.

5. Tatra Ice Dome

Traditionally every winter there's a magnificent Tatra Ice Dom on Hrebienok with stunning ice sculptures! In November 2019, 225 tons of ice was used in 1880 blocks of ice. It's one of the most beautiful works of art you can find in Slovakia! We're looking forward to seeing it every winter! ATTENTION!!! You're not going to find it in the summer! Only from December to April!

6. Lomnický štít (2634 m)

Who wouldn't want to see the highest peak of our second highest peak? You can see anywhere from here! Tourists will reach Lomnický štít by cable car from Tatranská Lomnica or by foot with a skilled mountain guide. You can take a special red suspension cable car from Skalnate Pleso to Lomnický top. Before you ascend the Gerlach peak (the highest peak in Slovakia) under the guidance of a professional mountain guide, you should first try to climb to the Lomnický peak. It's not that difficult to climb here, and at least you can test your physical shape.

7. Kriváň (2495 m)

Kriváň Mountain is located in the Tatra National Park and is a national symbol of Slovakia. At 2,494 m above sea level, the Kriváň is one of the highest peaks in Slovakia and the Carpathian Mountains.

8. Praiano

It is, of course, the most traditional Slovak mountain, where mass climbing is organized on a regular basis. Every Slovene should climb on it at least once in his lifetime. There is a beautiful view of the Tatras, Slovakia or Poland, and a not-so-demanding trip from Tri Studničky can be reached.

9. Rysy (2503m)

This is a very popular tourist peak. The less experienced visitors, however, who would otherwise not climb to the Rysy peak or turn to the first chain path, now have a greater chance. The final part of the trail is very steep from the Rysy cottage to the Rysy peak. You've got to go down on your knees and crawl to the top! It's a big challenge for a lot of hikers.

10. Kôprovský štít (2363m)

If you see a lot of people going to Rysy, you can choose the nearby Kôprovský štít. Half the way is common to both peaks, so you can make a decision on the way. The best starting point is Štrbské pleso, then you're going via Popradské pleso. You're going to see the biggest mountain lake in Slovakia on the way – Veшké Hincovo pleso.

We are proud "users" of IRRO service for about 8 years. After working with different coach companies in the last 20 years, we came to the understanding about 8 years ago, that IRRO are the best. In terms of quick answers and quotations, flexibility, great buses and friendly drivers. Working behind the scenes with Karsten is a pleasure, and you feel like you have a partner and not a salesman in front of you. After the service asking how it went and where can we improve. That is unique… I have no doubt that if you are looking to charter a coach in Europe and are reading this now, That you need to send an email or pickup the phone, because you came to the right place.
