1. Museum of Broken Relationships

This small but innovative and thought provoking museum is a must to visit when in Zagreb. This museum displays donations from the around the world describing the romances and relationships that went sour and dissented to anger, resentment, and sorrow. 2. Funicular Railway

In 1888, the shortest funicular railway line in the world was constructed to link over the steep divide between upper and lower parts of Zagreb. When sightseeing at the distinctive, historic and charming old town of Zagreb, is best ended with a ride on the shortest historic funicular line. It carries you easily from the old town to the busy city center of Zagreb. 

3. Jelacic Square (Trg Bana Josipa Jelacica)

This square is the heart of the city’s heritage and social life. This is where you can see architecture from different ages, many people, and start tours or meetings right in the center of town. The place is worth visiting during day time for photos, shopping, tours, and food. Also it is worth visiting in the evening to see the beautiful light illuminations, drinks, and entertainment. 

4. Dolac Market

In the early years of 1930s, the local city councilors set up a 2 story market area located centrally between lower and upper parts of Zagreb city. This market is called the Dolac market which is a very nice produce market on the upper level and dairy farm products on the lower level. No one can beat this place on freshness and competitive prices. 

5. Maksimir Park

The Maksimir Park was established in 1794 for the city public as the first in the region at that time. The park is beautifully scaled in English garden style offering a real forest, manicured lawns, ponds, and walkways. The wonderful Bellevue Pavilion and the Echo Pavilion are some of the highlights to visit here. Once your group craves for some green fresh space, and out door peaceful break time, Makismir Park is the answer. 

6. Museum Mimara

The Mimara museum is named after the special collection of treasures from the renowned art collector Ante Topic Mimara. The artifacts date back from 4th century till 20th century. All three floors are recommended to explore, but on the third floor the glass treasures and the picture gallery are top mark, and a privilege to see and enjoy the specials there. 

7. Croatian National Theater in Zagreb

The Croatian national Theater is nicknamed HNK (Narodono Hrvatsko kazalište) by the locals, is a very nice building, with multi nice shows all year round, so make sure to attend any show when possible. The building was established in 1895 purposely built to be the state theater by two famous Austrian architects Mr. F. Fellner and Mr. H. Helmer.  

8. Archaeological Museum in Zagreb

The Archaeological Museum is situated in the heart of Zagreb city. The museum can be reached in 5 minutes by walking from the Jelačić Square mentioned above. The museum is accommodated in a former palace situated across from the wonderful Nikola Šubić Zrinski Square. You will find many exhibitions on the three floors. Temporary exhibitions are usually presented on the first floor. On the second floor you will find the Classic Exhibitions. On the third floor your will find the breathtaking Egyptian collection. 

9. Museum of Illusion

The museum of Illusion is a special institution offering great adventures for the human senses to visitors. You will find there more than 70 intriguing displays, holograms, mysteries and informative games that give interesting conceptual exercises.   

10. Museum of Contemporary Art

The local architect Igor Franić designed building of Zagreb’s Museum of Contemporary Art, is a wonderful institution. Here you can find artists from Croatia and international identities presenting great contemporary art works. The complex is very busy with numerous cultural events covering films, theater plays, music shows and performing arts through out the year.
